How to use the ÖAMTC Route Planner

This route planner has been provided by the ÖAMTC to help you make arrangements for travelling to, and within, Austria.

Proceed as follows:

1. Enter your departure point in the relevant boxes: country under Land, post code under PLZ, city under Ort and street and street number under Straße.
   Click on Go.
   If necessary, choose your departure point from the list of destinations offered and confirm by clicking Go.
   
   Click on Go.
   
   
2. Now enter your destination data.
   
   Click on Go.
   Click on Route berechnen to map your route.

At the top of the page there is a brief description of your journey, comprising the point of departure (Start) destination (Ziel), distance (Entfernung) and estimated duration of your journey (Dauer), the date (Datum) of your search and the amount of tolls payable (Maut) (note that this does NOT include the price of a motorway vignette, where necessary).

Detailed itinerary

Below the map you have a description of the recommended itinerary. The symbols used are explained in the legend.

There is also information on each country you pass through (Landesinformationen), such as speed limits for the different types of roads: within built-up areas (innerorts), outside built-up areas (außerorts), express roads (Schnellstraßen) and motorways (Autobahnen).
